Monday, July 15-- the Hilton

Sure glad to get out of that Hilton place and I'm sure Lynn was also. Not that it was bad, as hotels go, but both Lynn and I would much rather be out enjoying nature. Sometimes it seems, however, that I must remind Lynn that we are having fun, and we're not here to stay in Hiltons; we can do that in Detroit.

Unbelievable; Icefield Highway.  I cannot describe the beauty. We are camping in a really nice campground, Two Jack Lakeside just outside of Banff.  Lynn is super pleased because our campsite is right next to the bath house.  Not my ideal spot but she is pleased with her midnight anticipation of visiting the bathhouse.  We had vodka tonics and hot dogs for supper; how great is that?

We even had old Edna checked out today and aside from sounding like a racing car with a miss, she is sound and running like a top.  We look real good going down the road since we put the black duct tape over the rust hole in the fender.

Lynn:  This morning started out cold and rainy, so we went Walmart shopping. Didn't need much, but it's been colder than expected and we needed a couple of warm things.  We did stop at a Midas Muffler place and they put Edna up on a hoist to check her out.  Other than the fact that she has a ticking sound and a little rumble, the mechanic said that we had manifold problems but she was going to be safe and fine to drive to Alaska.  I do feel better.

We spent the night in the first campground that I would say is really pretty.  Two Jack Lakeside campground outside of Banff is on the shores of a beautiful mountain lake.  The mountain on the opposite side of the lake reflects in it.  We are one site off the lake.  Beautiful.
